We want to share some of the reasons we have to smile today. Conservation success stories from the organisations that work hard to make a difference.  While the fight is tough and the going isn’t easy, sometimes things work out and these amazing people on the front line get to breathe a sigh of relief. We hope these make you smile on World Smile Day!

We find ourselves on World Rhino Day and Elephant Appreciation Day with a battle to fight for these revered creatures. Both the rhino and the elephant face persecution by humans, their armour coveted by the super-wealthy and the superstitious.

Rhino populations are in danger, and action has to be taken to keep them from going extinct. One organization, the Rhino Rescue Project, is taking matters into their own hands by devaluing the horns that rhinos are poached for. Although this process may seem complex, it’s one of the most straightforward, safe methods for keeping rhinos alive.

It is the day of the dog – (wo)man’s best friend, the purest of souls, those furry friends we are lucky enough to share our lives with. Let us celebrate our loyal family members and pay full respect to good boys and goodest girls the world over! Especially, the wild kind.
