A New Wild In Africa Store Is Opening at Kamogelo

From bare walls and boxes to a studio ready to welcome visitors, our new Kamogelo home has been taking shape one thoughtful detail at a time.

With our opening at Kamogelo Tourist Centre on Monday 2 November just ahead, we wanted to share a look at the renovation journey behind our new Wild In Africa studio.

When we first stepped inside, the space was a blank canvas: a high thatch roof, visible timber beams, an open floor and plenty of potential. We wanted to keep that character while creating a calm, purposeful home for the work our team makes by hand.

Building a space around the work

The transformation began with the foundations: a deep black interior to make each collection stand out, practical storage and room for the displays to grow. The thatch and timber beams remained at the heart of the space, bringing warmth and texture above the darker walls.

There were boxes to unpack, shelving to position and a central table to prepare, but little by little the room began to feel like ours.

From progress to reveal

Outside, the refreshed ochre façade and crisp white detailing now frame our new Wild In Africa Studio sign. The new window graphics introduce what visitors will find inside: handmade jewellery, bracelets, workshops and souvenirs, all made with purpose in Hoedspruit.

Almost ready to welcome you

Now the final layers are in place. A timber feature wall about to be installed, warm cabinetry, wildlife artwork by our founder Shannon Wild, plants (of course!) and considered jewellery displays have brought the room to life, ready for the bracelets and meaningful gifts that will fill it.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to Kamogelo Tourist Centre from Monday 2 November, 2026. You will still find us at Bosveld Village too, with two Wild In Africa spaces in Hoedspruit to discover handmade pieces that give back to conservation.
