Little 5 Stack

150.00

This stack represents the lesser known Little 5. Each "little" species is a contradiction in sheer size to the big five animals, but its name relates to one of the famous bigger five animals.

This stack directly supports habitat protection and acquisition in South Africa, essential for both the big and little five, with a US$30 donation made to the Wild Tomorrow Fund.

Elephant Shrew - Indian Bloodstone

The Elephant Shrew is a small, insect-eating mammal with a long nose. Elephant shrews are very common in Southern Africa but seldom seen. Indian Bloodstone (also known as Heliotrope) is reputed to be an excellent stimulator of the immune system, invigorating the system, boosting energy levels and increasing endurance in physical activity. Here it represents the busy, active nature of the Elephant Shrew.

Rhinoceros Beetle - Obsidian

Many rhinoceros beetles are well known for their unique shapes and large sizes. Obsidian (Dragon’s Glass) is a natural, volcanic glass. Known as a protective stone that helps absorb negative energy. Here it represents the beautiful black colouring of the beetle.

Antlion - South African Tiger’s Eye & Ethiopian Brass

Antlion are known for the predatory habits of their larvae, which in many species dig pits to trap passing ants. Tiger’s Eye aids in promoting harmony and balance and helps to relieve anxiety. Here it represents the brown colouring of the antlion as well as its big cat reference.

Leopard Tortoise - Dalmatian Jasper & Brass

The leopard tortoise is a large and beautifully marked tortoise found in the savannas of eastern and southern Africa. Dalmatian Jasper increases loyalty and is beneficial for long-term relationships. It brings a sense of fun to one's life. Here it represents the cryptic markings on the tortoise.

Buffalo Weaver - Indonesian Lava & Red Jasper

The Red-billed Buffalo Weaver is a black and red species of bird that weaves its nest.  Indonesian Lava stone is known for its grounding qualities and wonderful for calming emotions, while Red Jasper is believed to increase motivation and energy along with a sense of stability. Here it represents the gorgeous black feathers and red beak of the weaver.
